Dorothy "Dottie" L. Frame (Yates), 79, of Elmwood passed away early Monday morning, January 10, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Dottie was born on December 22, 1942, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Lowell R. Yates & Betty Dixon Yates. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Jack Frame in Galesburg on August 3, 1969. The love of her life, he preceded her in death by 3 years.
She is survived by her son, Christopher (Melissa McKinley) of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Also surviving are a brother, Roger Yates of Carpentersville, two nephews, three great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Dottie graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, IL, in 1960. She still enjoyed monthly luncheons with her classmates.
As an entrepreneur, Dottie helped people find gifts and decorations to brighten their lives. She enjoyed putting on annual Christmas shows and spending time with the community through her work. She was a member of the Elmwood Business Women's Association and took part in their monthly dinners until her passing.
You could always count on Dottie to have a smile and a joyful outlook. She brought so much light to both the virtual and central Illinois communities.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance and the Elmwood Business Women's Organization.
Due to Covid concerns, the family will have a private service. For those not attending, the funeral service will be recorded and can be viewed online at www.oakshinesfuneralhome. on Monday, January 17, 2022.

I've known Dottie since our years at Lombard when we walked the same route to school. Often, her Mother would take her and Roger by car and pick us up on the way. It was a treat especially in bad weather. We kept in touch throughout the years through Christmas correspondence and birthday wishes. She was exactly one week older than me. Got her last note in answer to our Christmas greetings just a few weeks ago. We enjoyed conversations at our 61st Class of '60 reunion in August. I know the last three years have been difficult for her, but I know she is at peace now. May the Lord bless you, Christopher, Melissa and the extended family.

I was so sad to see the passing of Dottie. Dottie and I were neighbors during all of our childhood, and I have nothing but fond memories of her. Even at her young age she was so thoughtful, gracious, and caring. During those troubling/challenging times of the late 40’s to the mid 50’s for me while me and my family adjusted to the destitution brought upon us by my fathers near deadly fight with his polio, Dottie helped me pull through those troubling times with her thoughtful, gracious, and caring ways. Although we didn't keep in touch after I left Galesburg, I did enjoy reminiscing with her at our reunions. The world will miss the brightness she filled the world with.

So sorry for your loss. Dottie was always friendly and smiling and I have so many items in my house from her business. We also both loved our kitties and shared "cat" stories and updates. Hugs and sympathies to your family.

Dottie and I was neighbors and childhood friends for over 60+ years. Dottie was my first girl friend. We had so many fun and sad years discussing our lives. Before 2019, I would drive up to Galesburg from Kansas every year to see friends, includingDottie. I will miss her terribly because we were so close.

Ditties has always had a special place in my life. She would stop by my work, in Galesburg, when she would get her hair done. Always enjoyed her conversations.

Dottie always greeted us with a smile, and she liked to “talk cars” with Ted. Our last conversation was at the Strawberry Festival Breakfast. She enjoyed her community.
