We knew Jean as Curator of the Metamora Court House Museum. He was always friendly and knowledgeable and sincere about the preservation of history. We would often stop by the museum when attending summer concerts on the Metamora square in hopes of seeing Jean. His spirit will ever be a fond remembrance.
It took a while to gain enough confidence in civil war dancing to join his performance group, but Jean's friendly, personable and intelligent style drew me in. It was a privilege to do civil war dancing under his patient tutelage. I'll always remember the great times we had. My condolences to the family and may he rest in peace.

I'm saddened to hear of the loss of Jean Meyers. He was so friendly and knowledgeable at the Metamora Courthouse. Hated to see him leave. May he rest in peace.
So sorry for your loss. Some of us in his Metamora Courthouse Civil War Dance Society are struggling with his loss. We lost track of him when he left his house. We would like to remember him in someway. How would the family feel if the Woodford County Historical Society raised a fund for a plaque to commemorate his service to the Metamora Courthouse? We would consult with the mayor and ask for any alternative suggestion to remember his service to Metamora and his work with the historical society. Our condolences and thoughts are with you. Thank you.
My prayers and condolences to the family, May fond memories and God’s loving words carry you through and beyond this difficult time of mourning. Isaiah 57:15
